To make art you must persuade the entire world that what you want to create is worthy of being created. The challenge of persuading the world is called work. It is the manifestation from individual imagination to co-creative reality. Be the art made in public, or in isolation it makes no difference. The burden of creation rests on all of us.
The challenges we face when working with materials, be it paint, plaster, graphics, or time, are the side effects of creating our art in reality. They are the rituals we must enact to shape our external reality so that it may reflect our internal one. Sketching, gathering materials, carving, nailing, moving, shifting, shaping, painting, and twisting are all rituals that simply can not be sidestepped. It is these rituals that persuade the rest of the world into allowing the piece to be created. Anything is possible with the right ritual. Nothing is possible without it.
Simply by being alive we have chosen to help out. You can choose to allow your creative energy to be used up without your control, or you can choose to be aware of your energy and participate in the amazing miracle of creation. Mindless work, mindless being creates cancer. Mindful work, mindful being creates love.
The world needs love,
thanks for helping out.
